  • Welcome to Mr. Pollok's Global 10 classroom website!

Global History and Geography is a two-year course that students take during 9th and 10th grade and which concludes with a Regents examination at the end of the 10th grade.  Grade 10 begins in the late 1700s with the French Revolution and continues chronologically up to the present.  Several concepts are woven throughout the course including industrialization, nationalism, imperialism, conflict, technology, and the interconnectedness of the world.  The course also focuses on exploring historical and cultural differences and similarities between different regions of the world.

“History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future.”

    – Robert Penn Warren
