Perry Central School District Field Trips
As part of our mission to provide our students with rigorous academic opportunities that will enhance their learning experiences, the Perry Central School District partners with the Enrichment Department of the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership offer general Enrichment as well as Gifted and Talented programs, Arts-In-Education presentations, several competitions, and a Summer Institute program.
By providing workshops and performances students have opportunities to engage in hands-on activities, connect with other students with similar interests, awaken their curiosity to explore new possibilities in the world around and beyond them.
Ongoing research proves how arts-in-education programs provide learning experiences that are active and experiential, reflective, social, evolving, and focused on problem-solving.
Perry Central School Ditrict participates in three componenets of the Enrichment program - On-the-Go, Visiting Experts and Shared Assemblies.
On-The-Go is specifically designed to provide enrichment programs that are directly connected to core curriculum areas, such as science, math, or social studies. They cannot be arts-related, and the events must occur outside the school.
Visiting Experts is specifically designed to provide enrichment programs directly connected to core curriculum areas that are not arts-related, such as science, math, or social studies. These events must occur at the school.
Shared Assembly is specifically designed to provide enrichment programs directly connected to arts-related curriculum. These events must occur at the school.
As a resource for teachers, the above enrichment activities are described, in detail, by viewing the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership web-page at the following address: http://www.gvboces.org/
